This is Just the Beginning

The other night, after my three kids finally went to bed, I sat at the kitchen table replaying the events of September 10, 2025.

I’m an Evergreen High School alum.

And I’m a mom of three—kids who were in lockdown at nearby schools during the recent tragedy at Evergreen High.

Like so many of you, I can’t shake the heaviness. This isn’t something that just impacts Evergreen. The ripple effects have been felt across the nation. Families are hurting. Communities are grieving.

For a moment, I thought about staying quiet.
“Amber, stick to syrup. Don’t step outside your lane.”

Why This Matters

I keep coming back to a quote that struck me:

Evergreen deserves more. Our kids deserve more.

And if enough of us lift our voices—louder, stronger, together—this can be more than syrup. It can be a movement of people choosing love, humanity, and togetherness over division.
