2. Make the Custard
In a large bowl, whisk together:
- eggs
- milk
- heavy cream
- Cinnamon Vanilla Syrup
- vanilla extract

Pour the mixture evenly over the bread cubes. Gently press the bread down so it absorbs the liquid.

Preheat oven to 350°F.
If using the topping, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter and sprinkle over the casserole.

5. Serve
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Top with powdered sugar, berries, or an extra drizzle of Cinnamon Vanilla Syrup for even more cozy flavor.
More Than Coffee Syrup
One of the questions we hear most at Daddy’s Homemade is:
“What can I actually make with your syrups?”
And honestly, we love that question.
Because our syrups were never meant to sit in the back of a cabinet waiting for coffee season.
They’re meant to become part of:
- cozy breakfasts
- family traditions
- homemade desserts
- weekend brunches
- slow mornings that turn into memories
This French Toast Bake is one of our favorite examples of how one simple ingredient can transform an ordinary breakfast into something people remember.
Tips for the Best French Toast Bake
Use Day-Old Bread
Slightly stale bread absorbs the custard mixture better and creates the perfect texture.
Prep It the Night Before
This recipe is ideal for overnight prep, making mornings easy and stress-free.
Add Your Own Twist
Try adding:
- pecans
- cream cheese
- blueberries
- caramelized apples
- chopped bacon
